Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) is a methodology in control systems engineering that enables engineers to quickly develop, test, and iterate control algorithms by deploying software models directly to real-time hardware prototypes, often before full production systems are available. This approach bridges the gap between simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, allowing for rapid experimental iterations to validate and refine strategies in a real-world environment.

Key Aspects of RCP:

1.Workflow: It typically involves using model-based design tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) to create control models, which are then compiled and run on specialized target hardware like real-time simulators or bypass systems. This bypasses the need to modify existing electronic control unit (ECU) software, speeding up testing even for large machinery.
