The short answer is yes, absolutely. Plastic molding can be successfully painted, but unlike wood or metal, achieving a durable, professional finish requires specific preparation, the right primer, and compatible paints. Step-by-Step Guide to Painting Plastic Molding
Step 1: Clean and Degrease
Plastics often retain mold-release agents, oils, or dust from the manufacturing process.
Wipe down the plastic molding thoroughly using isopropyl alcohol or mild dish soap and warm water.
Rinse and dry completely before moving to the next step.
Step 2: Lightly Sand (Create a "Tooth")

Step 5: Seal with a Protective Clear Coat
